GMX MAIL is not only suitable as a webmail service but it can also be accessed on your computer via an email client such as Outlook using IMAP or POP protocol. However, if you have already tried adding your GMX Mail account on Outlook but you are getting configuration error, you can follow the below-mentioned steps to successfully set up your GMX Mail account in Outlook.

10 Steps to Configure GMX Mail in Outlook Using IMAP or POP

NOTE: the following steps are for the Outlook 2013.

1.) On your Outlook program, click on the File option, then Information in the submenu and then on the Add account.

2.) Next, select Manual setup or additional server types option and click on the Next button.

3.) Choose POP or IMAP option and click on the Next button.

4.) On the next screen, enter your name and email address. Select POP3 as theAccount Type. In the Incoming mail server, enter pop.gmx.com and in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP), enter mail.gmx.com. And, in the Logo information, simply enter your username and password in the relevant fields.

5.) Then, deselect the Test Account Settings by clicking on the Next button. Next, click on the More Settings button.

6.) Now, go to the Outgoing Server tab and select the checkbox next to “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” and “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”.

7.) Next, go to the Advanced tab, and enter 995 as the value in the Incoming server (POP3) field. Select the checkbox next to “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)” and enter 587 as the value in Outgoing server (SMTP). After that, select TLS as the option for the “Use the following type of encrypted connection”. If you wish to keep a copy of your email to store in your GMX mailbox, select the checkbox next to “Leave a copy of messages on the server”.

8.) Then, click on the OK button.

9.) After that, click on the Next button.

10.) Finally, click on the Finish button. Your GMX Mail will be successfully configured to your Outlook email program.
