How To Sign In Into Outlook Office 365 Email

Outlook 365 is a great tool for setting up your different email accounts and to have an easy access to them whenever required. Whether you have email accounts like Office 365, Yahoo, iCloud, Gmail, or Exchange accounts, you can easily connect them with Outlook. However, for some third-party email providers such as Yahoo, iCloud, and Gmail, you will need to make some changes to the settings on their websites before adding them to Outlook.

Steps to Sign In Outlook Office 365 Email

1.) On your Outlook program, click on the File option and select Add Accountoption from the menu.

2.) Next, you will need to enter your email address and click on the Connectoption. If prompted to enter your password, enter it in the provided field and then select OK > Finish to start using your email account in Outlook.

NOTE: If you need to add an email account using advanced settings, you will need to follow these instructions:

1.) Launch Outlook program on your computer and select File > Add Accountoption.

2.) On the next screen, you will need to enter your email address and select Advanced options. Then, select the checkbox next to the option – Let me set up my account manually and click on the Connect option.

3.) Then, you will need to select your account type. Generally, when you use this option, you will choose IMAP.

4.) On the next screen, you will find the Account settings screen already filled with most of the account settings which is required. However, if you need to check for your settings, make sure you have the required POP and IMAP account settings of your email service provider.

5.) After entering your incoming and outgoing server settings for your email account, click on the Next button. Finally, enter your and password and click on the Connect option.

NOTE:

If the Outlook doesn’t accept the password entered by you, you might be having an email account which requires additional security.

Email accounts like Yahoo, iCloud, and Gmail provide additional security for the user’s account with two-factor authentication feature. If you have activated two-factor authentication for your email account, you will need to add an app password instead of your regular email account password to the Outlook. You can generate the app password for your email account by signing into it. The steps for generating app password will be different from each email provider.

Steps to Access Outlook Office 365 on Android & iPhone

 

For Android

If you are looking to access Outlook 365 on your Android device, you can do so easily by following the step-by-step instructions provided below.

1.) Open the Play Store app on your Android device and search for the Outlook for Android app on it.

2.) Once you find the Outlook for Android app in the Play Store, download and install it on your device.

3.) After installing the Outlook app on your device, tap on the app icon to open it.

4.) As this is your first timing, you will need to tap on the Get Started option that appears on your screen after tapping the app icon.

5.) Next, tap on the Menu icon located on the top-left corner of your screen in the Outlook app. From the drop-down menu that appears, select Settings > Add Account > Add Email Account.

6.) On the next screen, enter your complete email address and tap on the Continue button.

NOTE: if you are asked to choose your email provider, you will need to set up and IMAP or POP account or set up your Exchange manually.

7.) Then, you will need to enter your account password and tap on the Sign In or Next option.

NOTE: The sign-in screen may look different depending on your email provider. Also, if you have enabled 2-step verification, you will need to verify yourself using the method you set up (6 digit code, phone call, or Microsoft Authenticator app). Moreover, if you are asked to configure 2-step verification for Office 365, it may be required by your IT admin.

8.) In case, any additional policies have been set up by your IT admin, you will need to tap Activate and Activate again. Also, you may be prompted to allow permission to access your contacts, calendar, etc. For this, simply tap Yes or Allow on your Android device.

For iPhone

1.) Tap on the Settings app icon on your iPhone, scroll down to select Accounts & Password and then Add Account option.

NOTE: If you are using iOS 10, you will need to go to Mail > Accounts > Add Account option.

2.) Next, select the Exchange option from the given list of email service providers.

3.) Then, enter your Office 365, Exchange, or Outlook.com email address and a description in the prompted fields on the next screen and tap on the Nextoption. The, tap on the Sign In option,

NOTE: If you wish to enter server settings manually, tap on the Configure Manually option.

3.) After that, enter your email account password in the prompted field and tap on the Sign in or Next button.

4.) If you are prompted on the next screen that the Mail app may require certain permission, tap on the Accept button.

5.) Then, select the services that you wish to sync with your iOS device and tap on the Save button to complete the configuration process.
