When Connecting a Gmail Account to Outlook.com

If you wish to connect your Gmail account to Outlook.com, you will need to follow the information provided below.

  1. To begin with, you will first need to sign in to your Outlook.com account. Once you are signed in to your Outlook.com account, you will need to go to the Settings section (gear icon). This will open a drop-down menu on your screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu, you will need to select the View all Outlook settings option and then select the Sync email option.
  3. Next, you will need to select the Gmail option located under the Connected accounts. You will be directed to Connect your Google account page.
  4. Once you are on the Connect your Google account page, you will need to enter the desired display name for your Gmail account. The name you choose will be displayed to the recipients whenever they will receive an email message from your account. Here, you will simply need to press the Select option.
  5. Then, you will need to choose your Gmail account which you wish to set up on Outlook.com. You are most likely to be prompted to provide a user name and password of your Gmail account.

NOTE: In case you have enabled the two-step verification for your connected account, you will need to generate an app password for your account. For this, you will need to navigate to the Gmail account security page to generate an app password. After that, you will need to get back to Outlook.com to enter that app password on the Connect your Google account page.

6. After that, you will need to select the Allow option.

When Connecting Other Email Accounts to Outlook.com

Below are the instructions that you will need to follow to connect your Yahoo Mail, AOL, and other email accounts to Outlook.com.

  1. In Outlook.com, you will need to select the Settings option (gear icon) and then select the View all Outlook settings option.
  2. Under the View all Outlook settings section, you will need to select the Sync email option.
  3. Next, you will need to select the Other email accounts under the Connected accounts option.
  4. Then, you will need to enter a display name under the Connect your account page. This is the name that will display to the recipients when they receive an email message from your account.
  5. After that, you will need to enter your complete email address and password of the email account which you wish to connect to your Outlook.com account.
  6. After that, select the OK button and you are done.

NOTES:

  • In case you have enabled the two-step verification for your connected account, you will need to generate an app password for your account. For this, you will need to navigate to the security page to generate an app password. After that, return to Outlook.com to enter that app password on the Connect your account page.
