How to Turn off iCloud Music Library?

If you are looking to turn off the iCloud Music Library on your iOS device like iPhone or Mac, you can follow the information provided below in this guide. You are allowed to use iCloud Music Library only if you have an Apple Music subscription. Disabling it will remove any downloaded Apple Music songs from your current device like a phone. Below are the steps that will help you turn off your iCloud Music Library.

Steps to Turn off iCloud Music Library On iPhone and Mac

1. On your iPhone, go to the Applications menu screen. Once you are on the applications menu screen, you will need to tap on the Settings app icon to open it.
2. Now, once the Settings app gets opened on your iPhone, you will need to tap on the Music option. You will be directed to the Music settings of your iPhone. You will need to scroll down to find the Music option.
3. Once you are in the Music settings section, you will need to tap on the slider button located next to the iCloud Music Library option. As you will tap on the Slider button, this will open a warning box on your screen where you will see the following message:

“Disable iCloud Music Library

This will remove all Apple Music songs from this device”

1. In the warning box, you will be provided two options – Turn Off and Cancel. Here, you will need to tap on the Turn Off option. 
2. As you will tap on the Turn Off button, iCloud Music Library will be disabled on your iPhone.

NOTE: You will only be able to see and turn off the iCloud Music Library option if you have joined Apple Music or iTunes Match.

Steps to Turn off iCloud Music Library On iPhone and Mac

1. On your Mac computer, search for iTunes using the search option and select the iTunes program from the search result. You will need to click or double click on the iTunes app icon.

Notes: If you are prompted to update your iTunes when opening it, make sure to do so before proceeding.

1. Once the iTunes program gets opened on your screen, you will need to click on the Edit button located at the top of the iTunes window. You can find the Edit button located at the top of the iTunes window. However, for Mac, you will need to click on the iTunes option located in the upper-left corner of the screen.
2. From the drop-down menu that appears on your screen, you will need to click on the Preferences option. You can find the Preferences option located at the bottom of the drop-down menu. This will pop-up the Preferences window on your screen.
3. Once you are in the Preferences window, you will need to go to the General tab by clicking on it. You can find the General tab located at the top of the Preferences windows
4. In the General tab of your iTunes program, you will need to located and deselect the checkbox next to the “iCloud Music Library” box located at the top of the window.

NOTE:

• If the box next to the “iCloud Music Library” option is unchecked already, it means that iCloud Music Library is disabled on your computer.
• If you don’t see the box at all, it means that iCloud Music Library is not available for your account.

1. Once you have deselected the checkbox next to the “iCloud Music Library” option, you will need to click on the OK button. You can find this button located at the bottom of the Preferences window. Doing this will save the changes you made and delete any saved Apple Music songs from your iCloud Music Library.
