As an Outlook 2016 user, you can set up your different email accounts on your Outlook program and get easy access to them whenever you want. Similarly, if you have a Verizon email account, you can configure it to your Outlook program and have easy access to your emails as per your requirement. Steps to Setup Verizon Email Settings in Outlook 2016
NOTE: As Verizon moved to AOL Mail, following steps are as per AOL Mail configuration
1.) Launch Outlook 2016 on your desktop and click on the File menu.
2.) From the drop-down list that appears on your screen, click on the Add Account option and select “Manual setup or additional server types” radio button. Click on the Next button.
3.) Now, select POP or IMAP radio button and click on the Next button. You will be directed to the next window.
4.) On the next window that you are directed to, enter the following information:
- Your Name: Enter your name as you want it to appear to your recipients
- Email Address: Enter your complete email address
- Account Type: Select IMAP
- Incoming mail server:aol.com
- Outgoing mail server:aol.com
- User Name: Enter your complete email address
- Password: Enter your account’s password
Select the checkbox next to the option “Remember password”
5.) Next, click on the More Settings button and go to the Outgoing Server tab to select the checkbox next to the option “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” box. Also, make sure that checkbox next to “use same settings as my incoming mail server” is selected.
6.) Then, go to the Advanced tab and enter the following information:
- Incoming server (IMAP): 993
- Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
Click on the Ok button.
7.) After that, click on the Next button and wait until Outlook completes the testing process. Once the testing gets completed successfully, click on the Closebutton.
8.) After that, click on the Finish button and send a test email to yourself to check if your Verizon email account is working fine with Outlook 2016.
